WE ARE BACK! 🙂
First of all…There were dome changes on the date of starting for a month, but due to good reasons.
As you all now, I am Physiotherapist working for Guy’s and St. Thomas, community service. Because of Covid-19, Omnicron variant, cases started to increase and services became overwhelmed, so I was redeployed to an Urgent Team, Intermediate Care Lambeth, in the community to help out due to staff capacity for 3 weeks.
So know you know what happened to me and why Move@Work did not restarted.
Some data analysis:
Move@Work is back and with new ideas. I had time to think what could we do to improve the sessions to make then even better.
During the December and January months I got responses from a feedback form that I gave to the CRAFS Team for the Move@Work Part 1 and after some analysis I gather the following:
A total of sessions: 22 out of 23 were done, with an average attendance of 9.4 participants, where the biggest attendance was 15 participants and the smallest was 5 participants. Sessions had an average Length of time of 12 min, which fits with the criteria for the Labour Gymnastics concept.
Questionnaire had a low rete of responses, a thing that I want to improve going forwards but made it clear to me and my Clinical Manager that Move@Work is making impact in the service.
Below are some of questions asked to CRAFS staff:

After showing you some of the answers from CRAFS staff, I also got some good written feedback: “Great to be able to dedicate 15mins to my own health and stretch before the start of the day. I have used some of the exercises at other times in the day too.” ; “Allocated time for stretching and to incorporate wellness time into the day, Monday morning session particularly enjoyable to start the week off on a good note.” ; “It feels good to come together wherever you are situated. Sets you up nicely for the day.” ; “I felt like I had a burst of energy in the morning.” ; “I become conscious of which part of my body are stiff and need stretching/exercising. It helped me to relax to face a stressful day. It is motivational to keep fit.”.
Overall very good feedback from staff, that made me very proud of what I am doing and is giving me the motivation to continue to peruse the best of Move@Work.
Plan Going Forward!
After analyzing the date and coming back to CRAFS Team, I had a chat with my Clinical Manager and explained the next steps. Presented to her the data collected and made a plan going forward.
Move@Work (Part 2) with re-start on 14/02/22 with sessions on the same slot and time as before (Monday’s and Thursday’s from 08:45am to 09:00am). Sessions will use a new format. They will follow and objective per session. (e.g. Session #1 – mobility of neck and shoulders + general full body stretches or Session #5 – isometric strengthen on the core + general full body stretches). It will make the routines more specialized and able to focus in a specific theme. They will always finish if s full body stretch routine.
Regarding having more materials, I applied for a funding at Guy’s and St. Thomas, but still waiting for response. I will keep you posted when I have an answer.
I hope this will make be able to bring more variety of exercises so staff can benefit even more of the Labour Gymnastics concept. Whit this new addition of new routines I will see if can improve my project even more and tackle the Occupational Diseases related to work.
