Time for a break to re-organize

It has been an interesting and thrilling two and half months. It started on 13/09/21, where a small idea start growing.

It took me 2 years to achieve the point of development that I wanted to start introducing it to people. From books to videos and even for online training I gained the knowledge on how to bring this project forward.

What can I say? After two and months and after twenty two out of twenty three sessions I feel that Move@Work as something to bring to the staff wellbeing conversations. It helps people prepare for the day and also bring then the understanding that movement is important for our work routine, but feedback will come on a later post 🙂

What went well?

Consistency of the sessions were a good point, as well as the virtual component was a way of bringing staff together. I noted good interacting from the staff with the sessions, they were able to follow and listen to my instructions throughout the the video calls or in-person.

The exercises (main point) used a general theme, and the routines were easy to follow. I tried to incorporate something new every session, a new stretch and new position for an exercise, which I think it made the sessions more interesting.

What went not so well?

I came to a point middle sessions that I realized that I needed to incorporate more variety of exercises, and that will be my next step to develop more routines or ways to not bring monotony to the sessions.

Also not having extra materials made me feels that session were not brought up to the full potential, where with extra materials – like thera-bands , sticks , balls – I could make sessions more interesting. But never the less I am not sad as I was able to keep up the project and never give-up 😀

Next Steps?

I will use the Month of December to gather data from feedback form already sent to staff – lets see if I can get more than 13 answers xD – Then I will speak to my manager with the plan going forward.

I will start on the Move@Work Part Two a new way of delivering the classes , where I will have an objective in every session – e.g. – session #1 – head mobility / strength – so exercises will be focused o the Head/neck and then I will be doing a general stretches to finalize.

I have an idea of bringing for services from Community into Move@Work, like admin Teams based on out office. currently there is 3 Teams including the one from my Team. For that I will need the authorization of my manager for and well as a few more presentations to the respective teams and team leaders.

Good News, also came from the Funding service – which I have already applied to get extra funding to get more materials to make sessions even better – Got a reply saying that my form was accepted and candidates will be announced end of December/beginning of January 2022.

See you in the 06/01/21 for the re-start 🙂

Thank you and Come and Move@Work with me!
